Red Ribbon Week (Oct 26)

Middle School Parents Only

Dear Parent(s)/ Guardian(s),

The Red Ribbon Carnival is a joint endeavor between the Cranford Police Department and both Cranford Middle Schools to educate our Middle Schoolers about substance abuse during Red Ribbon Week. HAS Middle Schoolers will be attending the event during their PE classes where they will learn about the dangers of substance abuse in an engaging way. We need volunteers to make it happen! 2 parent volunteer information sessions will be held one on Friday, October 20 and the other on Tuesday, October 24 (click sign up for info)–it is highly recommended for volunteers to attend one of these sessions. Thanks!

Trick or Trunk (Oct 27)

Trick or Trunk flyer

Come join us Friday, October 27th from 4:30 to 6:00 for some Halloween fun! This is NOT a dropoff event. We are looking for 25 families to decorate their trunks. Candy will be provided for you to distribute to the children attending.  Trick-or-treaters should also sign up so we know how many to expect.  We are asking that trick-or-treaters please donate a bag of allergy-friendly treats/pencils/toys/novelty items for this event so that everyone who wants to can participate safely. There will be a box in the Main Office to collect your donations.

 *PLEASE BE ADVISED: Any candy that is donated that cannot be distributed due to allergy concerns will be donated to the Cranford Police Department.*

Help Create a Makerspace (Oct 11)

The HAS Media Center is creating a Makerspace to support our NEW! Library Media Curriculum.

A Makerspace is a place to Create, Explore, Collaborate, Design and Invent.

Please donate Legos, K’Nex, Magna Tiles/Magformers, Duct tape/Masking tape, Pipe Cleaners, Puzzles, Origami paper, Storage Containers, Broken Electronics (ie., remote control toys, radios, etc.), Rubber bands, Solo cups.

If you would like to donate to the HAS Media Center Makerspace, please drop your donations off in the box outside the Media Center in the Elementary hall during Back to School Night (Oct 11th).

Fall Book Fair (October 11-October 13)

The Fall Book Fair will also be open during Elementary Back-to-School Night (10/11). The Fall Book Fair is always a success, in large part due to our parent volunteers—and we need a lot this year!
