Hi Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. We have some urgent volunteer needs this week: This Friday, 10/26, we need Red Ribbon Day volunteers, and we need a lot more trunks and candy donations for Trick or Trunk to operate. Right now we only have 12 trunks and not many candy donations. Please see below for more information on how you can help. Thank you!
Middle School Red Ribbon Day, is this Friday and we still need several volunteers for the afternoon time slot!! – Please sign up to help! http://signup.com/go/xPLFcih – The Red Ribbon Carnival is a joint endeavor between the Cranford Police Department and both Cranford Middle Schools to educate our Middle School students about substance abuse during Red Ribbon Week. HAS Middle Schoolers will be attending the event during their PE classes where they will learn about the dangers of substance abuse in an engaging way. We need volunteers to make it happen! Parent volunteer information sessions will be held immediately following the October PTA meeting (10/25). It is highly recommended for volunteers to attend one of these sessions. Thank you!
TRICK OR TRUNK Friday – 10/26/18
Elementary Students attend from: 4:30 – 5:30
Middle School Students attend from: 5:30 – 6:30 – We are excited to announce that we have extended Trick or Trunk so that middle school children can join us after the elementary kids have taken their turn. But this means we need more trunks and more candy donations. As one of our most popular events for attendance, many decorated trunks are needed to make this event a success! Your vehicle does not have to be elaborately decorated and it is really easy to participate. We provide the candy and it’s lots fun for the kids to have a variety of trunks to visit. Please Sign up here: http://signup.com/go/vyToDuC.
If you decide to decorate a trunk: On Friday, 10/26, please report to the Teacher’s Parking Lot at 4 pm. We will provide each car with candy to pass out. The cars are assigned numbers, and votes will be taken throughout the event. The 3 most popular cars will be awarded a prize.
* IMPORTANT – If you are attending this event but are not decorating a trunk: We ask that you donate a bag of allergy safe candy or non food items. Here is a list of some acceptable donations: Haribo Gummies, Mike & Ike’s, Utz Halloween Pretzel Treats, goldfish, Skinny Pop popcorn, Dots, Surfs Sweets, Enjoy Life Cookies, Tootsie rolls/pops, PEZ, Charms Blow Pops/lollipops, Skittles, Smarties, Double Bubble Gum, Sour Patch Kids, DumDum Lollipops, Swedish Fish, Ring Pops, Twizzlers, Jelly Belly Jelly beans, Airheads, & Starburst. Non food giveaways, such as pencils, erasers, stickers, tattoos. etc. *PLEASE BE ADVISED: Any candy that is donated, that cannot be distributed due to allergy concerns, will be donated to the Cranford Police Department.
Here is where you can drop off candy donations:

Each week, the PTA will send an email blast like the one above which will include information regarding upcoming HAS PTA events. Occasionally, we will include other school/community events, not run or organized by the PTA, that we think would be helpful to share. Both PTA members and Non-PTA members receive this email.
